Our REEF SNORKELING AND THE BEACH Tour provides visitors with a taste of the Belizean Aquatic experience along with an opportunity to enjoy a beach on one of our private Belizean Cayes (Islands).

Our guided tour departs daily from the Tourism Village to a local private island. Our visitors will enjoy an unforgettable Caribbean experience that is uniquely Belizean. Marine lovers will want to take advantage of our snorkeling tour of Belize's Barrier Reef, the second largest Barrier Reef in the world and the largest in the Western Hemisphere. We depart from the Fort Street Tourism Village in Belize City, Belize. It is a 20 minute boat ride to the island where we stop for 10 minutes to allow everyone to change. We then take a 10 minute boat ride to the reef snorkeling site, snorkel for 1 to 1 1/2 hour depending on the guests' preference after which we return to the island for relaxation on the beach prior to returning to the Tourism Village.

Our bright yellow booth is on the boardwalk in terminal 3 of the Fort Street Tourism Village where visitors can sign up for a tour with any of our friendly staff. Or if you are on the dock, just look for the yellow shirts with the Fab Tours logo.

SHARK-RAY SNORKELING

Caye Caulker Marine Reserve (Shark-Ray Village), has become one of the newest tourist attractions  at Caye Caulker, Belize. This protected park started out in a similar manner as the Hol Chan Marine Park in nearby Ambergris Caye, Belize in which reef sharks and sting rays were fed unwanted fish scraps by the local fishermen. Now the rays and sharks know that they will be fed whenever a boat turns up and they are quick to swarm towards any boat that arrives. In the shallow water along the barrier reef, visitors are able to earn the trust of dozens of southern stingrays and a variety of shark species.

These creatures have a great tolerance for snorkelers and seem to enjoy the human interaction. The rays, which have a 'wing-span' of two to four feet, swim directly towards the divers, inviting them to reach out and stroke their wings (although it's best not to touch them). Some will also swim in circles around guests like a cat rubbing against its owners legs. The gentle Nurse Sharks average four to six feet in length and are docile creatures. The amount of rays that come to the park is astounding and can be intimidating at first glance but by the time the guests leave Shark-Ray Village, each will have touched a ray, learned about their behavior and lost his/her fear.

Belize is known for having the best fishing in the western Caribbean due to its abundance of game fish which guarantees it as an excellent sport. Depending on the area where fishing is done, you will be able to see marlin, bonefish, snook, grouper, snapper, sailfish and even barracudas. So come and experience all kinds of fishing. BARRIER REEF TWO TANK DIVE
 

The Barrier Reef is 185 meandering miles of unspoiled beauty. The reef is like a gigantic wall running parallel to the coast bisected by lanes of sugar-white sand forming trails to the maze of marine life. Between the mainland and the reef are shallow, sandy waters with numerous mangrove-covered islands (cayes).  the clarity of the water and the abundance and diversity of the fish species found makes it the premier diving base in the Caribbean. Divers regularly spot various exotic creatures such as turtles, moray eels, stingrays, barracuda, tropical reef fish, dolphins and several shark species.

ALTUN HA, RAINFOREST & BELIZE CITY TOUR

Altun Ha was once an important ceremonial site for the ancient mayan civilization, it was here that the largest carved jade object was found – the 9.5 pound Jade head which represents the sun god Kinich Ahau. Altun Ha is surrounded by broadleaf rainforest and consists of three main plazas with about thirteen temples and residential structures. There are stone steps from an ancient time which makes easy access for visitors to bask in the scenery that has changed little since the time when the mayans flourished. After witnessing what Belize was like thousands of years ago, a short city tour of the Commercial capital allows one to experience modern Belize.

BABOON SANCTUARY & BELIZE CITY TOUR

A large group of local nature lovers came together with the assistance of the Belize Audubon Society to form the Community Baboon Sanctuary. This reserve was created primarily for the protection of the Howler Monkey, known as the “Baboon” in Belize. Come and witness the “baboon” in its natural habitat and the baboon bridge, a man made wooden bridge so that “baboons” can safely cross the road.

BELIZE ZOO & BELIZE CITY TOUR

The Belize Zoo was founded in 1983 as a retirement home for wild animals that had been featured in documentary films. It now plays a major role in providing homes to injured and abandoned animals who are most often unable to be returned into the wild. The tropical savanna features about 125 animals which includes jaguars, crocodiles, toucans and other magnificent birds, tapirs (our national animal) and other exotic mammals all living in their natural habitat.
